Its limits

Wellness massage can not be used for therapeutic purposes and therefore can not be used for the treatment of a particular disease. This does not exclude, however, its soothing action on certain pathological problems.

It does not require a medical consultation beforehand, however its application is formally proscribed when:

  1. the client is pregnant (unless medical advice)
  2. the area to be treated has lesions or other cutaneous infections
  3. the person being massaged suffers from a chronic illness such as asthma or diabetes
  4. the person has a cardiovascular disorder
  5. the person being massaged is in a sickly state, feverish or with stomach pains.
